Xfinity stream issue!! Please help!!

So I’ve always used my friends xfinity account to watch some shows she dvrs for me. We live in diff states so I’m obviously not in her in home WiFi, and the device I’ve used has been a fire stick. Recently I updated to a new onn. Roku smart 4K tv, downloaded the xfinity stream app, went to sign in, did the code authorization and then I get Error: TVAPP-00101 “This device can only access xfinity stream on your in home xfinity WiFi….. As I’ve said I’ve never been on her WiFi so I’m not understanding what this means or how to fix it. Also I can plug in my fire stick and bam it works still so any ideas? Thank you as it’s driving me crazy. I read up about linking accounts but I don’t think that’s the issue cause I’ve never done that before. And I tried but then says need to invite and couldn’t figure out how to send an invite and ya I’m pulling my hair out and just want to watch my shows! Thank you in advance

Greetings, @user_617158! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the Xfinity Stream app, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

I know there are restrictions in place for streaming live content and On Demand programs while out-of-home, but I haven't encountered this issue with DVR recordings. You mentioned that your Firestick still works without any issues. Do you have the Xfinity Stream app on your mobile device, or any other devices, for testing purposes?
