Xfinity Stream app - can't watch from friends home with Xfinity also
Hello,
I have Xfinity and the friends and or neighbors do too. I obviously cannot connect to my WIFI becasue I am too far away, so I connect to their Xfinity WIFI with the password given by the friend or neighbor and I get a plenty strong signal. But if I go to watch a movie, it appears shaded out.
(Where if I were at home it would appear in white and I could click watch).
I go back home and when logged into my internet this is not a problem.
I can't rememeber if I was logged in as the ADMIN or another secondary user, but should it matter?
I should be able to open Xfinity Stream app and watch any of my movie channels that are available outside of the home from a remote location, correct? (I do realize that many will state that they are not avaiable outside of the home).
Can you let me know. Also, does it matter if its an Apple device or Android device? I seem to have more trouble on the older Apple devices.
Thanks for your help.
Note: I did read this online below:
Were you watching an Xfinity On Demand program?
Due to restrictions by content providers, some Xfinity On Demand programs can only be viewed when you're connected to your Xfinity home network.

The DRM encoded in each item you try to view determines the availability. No matter the devcie. When out of home (another's WIFI for example) the DRM will automatically comply with the providers' license terms.
