Xfinity iOS streaming app crashing/stops otherwise won't properly playback video. Browser playback in Chrome/Ventura is fine
1. Record a program (Oxygen network or another network)
2. Playback DVR recorded program either almost immediately after recording it, while it is recording (like 10 minute delay) or hours after recording
The recording will stop playing back and the app will indicate there was a problem playing back the video.
If you close the app and restar it and attempt to playback the video, the video will "start" but the frame will not progress only the sound will continue.
If you go to https://www.xfinity.com/stream/ and play back the same content in Chrome on macOS Ventura, it will play back fine.
I have reproduced this on
- iPad 7th Generation running iPadOS 16.3
- iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.3
both have the latest Xfinity app installed. This is unbelievably annoying.

Thank you for reaching out to our Community Forum so we can help with the Xfinity Stream app on your iOS devices, @larissaej! I love using the app so I can watch my favorite shows when I'm not home so I'd be upset if this was happening. We are aware of this issue and we have teams working on a resolution. Right now, a temporary fix is to rewind to your desired start point after playback begins.
