Had an error come up with this saying there are no live events airing at this time. This is weird because there absolutely is content playing right now on that channel.

How is it going @user_a8bbae, I hope your Friday is going well. I apologize you're getting that error when using the app. I know it must be a head scratcher if you know content is currently airing on live TV, and you can't view it in your app. Are you using the Xfinity Stream app? If yes, are you able to let us know if you are using it at home or away from home? Have you tried closing the app, updating the app or testing it on another device?

@XfinityJosephA This is happening to me as well on the xfinity stream app, but just for ESPN channels. Same error tvapp-00252

@XfinityAlyssaA Yes. Same error (tvapp-00252) on all ESPN channels on the xfinity stream app on both cellular data and Wi-Fi.

@user_abb7f3 Sorry to hear you are also experiencing issues with your ESPN channels. Are you also receiving the same error TVapp-00252 on the Stream app? connected to in-home network or on the go or both? And lastly, what type of device if this is on Stream?

Having the same issue with ESPN. Away from home. The whole point of the app is to use it away from home on other wifi and what not. This is unbelievably annoying!

Yes right after the iOS 15 upgrade and I started experiencing this issues. Still Espn, masn, and  NBC Sports Washington are all not working. Please Tech support from Comcast/Xfinity can someone help resolve this issue?

@XfinityAmandaB unfortunately that’s not a useful suggestion. The issue is with playback on a mobile device which xfinity forces uses to play using the mobile app. If I try to access xfinity stream from my iPad using chrome, once I select a channel like ESPN, xfinity forces me to open the xfinity mobile app which then fails with the tvapp-00252 error.

I’m glad to hear you confirm that xfinity is aware of the issue. What would be most helpful is for xfinity to provide us users with an expected date for the problem to be fixed rather than providing recommendations that do not work.

@user_977434 There is no estimated date or time of resolution available for this issue as of now. As soon as one is available we will definitely do our best to ensure everyone has the most recent update. In the meantime are there are a few steps we can complete on our end that has worked for some people, although it is not a permanent fix. I am having this issue as well.  TVAPP 00252 on ESPN channels, including SEC Network, ESPN 2, etc.  These will work when I'm on my home wifi only.  Works on other devices, but appears to be an ios15 issue?

Hello @plchtown1! Have you also recently updated your IOS to Safari 15 and now experiencing this issue? We are aware of this issue and currently trying to find out why this is occurring then implement a fix as soon as we’re able. In the meantime, you can ask:

  • Refresh the page in Safari, which will sometimes resolve the issue, but not always.
  • Use a different browser to access the Xfinity Stream portal, like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

Safari 15 doesn't have anything to do with it from my perspective.  This is in the Stream app and/or iOS 15 on iPhone/iPad.  Just ESPN channels (ESPN, ESPN2, SEC, ESPNU, etc.).  It works when I'm at home on my home Wifi. When on LTE, or another Wifi network, it gives that error.   The common demoninator is iOS 15.  My wifes iPhone 8 with iOS 14.8 it works fine.  So, hopefully when iOS 15.1 comes out it'll resolve the issue.

Not sure who this will help, but I've been having the same issue.  At least ESPN (& 2, etc.) seems to work through the ESPN app.  Not sure about the other networks.

The workaround I found…use the ESPN app and select “Watch”. It logs you in with Xfinity and they will have their live streams there. Good luck!

Having the same issue. Everyone is with ESPN. Won't work. It's ridiculously annoying. What's the point of this app if you can't use it away from home on other wifi and what not? Smh

No! Issue has not been resolved as of today. Still cannot stream ESPN 1 or ESPN 2. And MSNS, as well. Hope Xfinity Tech support can help.
