SNY channel not streaming on Xfinity Stream App running on any apple device

All day I was unable to stream SNY channel on the Xfinity Stream app on any of my Apple devices. Apple TV, IPhone or IPad. 

I was on with support for close to an hour and they were unable resolve issue.  Still unable to get that station. Only happening on apple devices. I am able to stream on an Amazon fire stick. 

I was also not able to view the recording from the channel as well. For only that channel. 

Anyone else having this issue? Any resolutions?

Yes, same thing for me. I can’t get the SNY channel to stream or play recorded SNY programs on my iPhone. The weird thing is it’s only SNY that isn’t working and it’s only on my iPhone. I tried again this morning and it’s still not working.

Hopefully, customer service was able to escalate to someone who can resolve this issue on the tech side.

I tried it on two other apple accounts in the same household and same thing.   SNY started working on the middle of the third day.  And even today when I go to see something that was recorded on the 28 (day of initial incident) the recording just spins.  But I tried to watched something recorded on any other day,  no issue.

Same here on iPhone and iPads as of last night. 1 hour on tech support and they are useless.

Very frustrating.   Support for some reason sent a technician to the house and all they said was your Wifi and modem are working.   So please cancel the support call on your phone.  There is nothing I can do.   Plus Xfinity Stream is BETA so we should be expecting these kinds of issue.  Well if it is BETA then should we not be paying for it!

Same with me! I was able to note, my cable box did play SNY perfectly, but my Apple TV/Xfinity Stream on iPhone and xfinity stream on Mac, all did not work

I stopped getting the cable box, because I thought it was ridiculous, to have to pay a monthly fee for something I could just stream.  But serves me right right for trusting Xfinity to provide a solid product.

What a surprise. Like so many corporations in our wonderful country these days, Comcast has virtually abandoned their start-up core mission, which for Adelphia/Comcast was providing reliable, affordable cable TV service to theie customers. 

Nowadays, it's satisfying the metrics that the market wants to see. Providing anything of value to their customers is secondary now - maybe not even secondary. 

They don't care what we think, it's take it or leave it.

Hi there, @erictroy! I am glad to further help with getting SNY working on your Apple devices once again. We appreciate all the details you provided and want to get to the bottom of this. I checked but do not see this as a known issue being worked on for everyone. 

 

What do you see when you try to view the channel? Is there a certain color of screen or an error message?

Did you try channels 76, 843, and 1253? 

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Xfinity app on one of the Apple devices?

@XfinityRay​ So on the 28th - while attempting to view the SNY channel - all we got was a spinning wheel, which unfortunately has happened before, so I tried to view the on going recording, instead of the live action.  (Yes I tried, 76, 843, 1253, none worked, including the recording).  To this day if I tried to view the 28th's recording I get the spinning wheel.  When I try to view SNY recordings for any other day - no issue at all.

Color of the screen was Black Spinning wheel, ipad said SNY with three dots and then after 20mins

But the last one was misleading as I was clearly was on tyhe network to be able to see all the other channels.

I did the following with no effect


1) I recycled Modem, mesh network, TV, Apple TV.

2) Deleted Xfinity Stream app from Apple Tv, reinstalled

3) Brought up Xfinity Stream on Iphone (same issue)

4) Brought up Xfinity Stream on Ipad (same issue)

5) Borrowed and brought up Xfinity Stream on Amazon Fire Stick (IT WORKED)

6) Tried again in the morning was having the same issue

7) Later in mid day after getting a text from Xfinity that the do not see an issue (We Didnt find an outage associated...)
