Smart resume feature

I am unable to access the dvr playback smart resume on my Amazon Fire TV, has anyone else been able to get full playback functionality with an Amazon FIre TV and the Xfinity Streaming app? I did notice that the Xfinity Streaming app version I have is from 8-10-25 which seems pretty old, but when I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, the same version was downloaded and installed.  Thoughts?
