Slow download of dvr recording

Since I switched to gig internet my downloads of my dvr recordings is extremely slow. I have the latest versions of the app and ios on the iPad. But it's takes forever to download the programs. The internet seems fast. With wifi a speed test gets 300 Mbs. But before when I was paying for 250 I could download the shows in a few minutes as apposed to sometimes an hour for a regular program.
