Safari 15 cannot open Xfinity stream on the iMac

It hangs on the buffering screen when I try to stream Xfinity TV on the Xfinity website.  Only occurred once I updated to Apple's latest browser, Safari 15.

Firefox will not work for xfinity streaming on my MacBook Pro--message says my system is not compatible, but all systems are newer than what is stated to be the minimum requirement. Of course Safari 15 isn't working at all for xfinity streaming.

I have have the same issue since I upgraded to Safari 15.  xfinity worked with me and came to the conclusion that it is a Safari issue. I have tried all the fixes I can do for Safari to no avail.  The problem needs fixing.  Please....

@user_9844d6 Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We are aware of the issue. Right now, the workaround is to use a different browser. I understand how this would be frustrating and I hope there is a fix for it soon.

I no longer work for Comcast.

@XfinityAbbie
[Edited: "Language"] I can't connect via Chrome, Safari or Firegox on my iMac. What the heck. This problem has been going on for more than 4 days

Safari v15 was pushed out to my MacBook Pro running Big Sur v11.6 on Tuesday, Sept. 21.  My Xfinity streaming personal home page, which had been working earlier that day, would not load but hung at the "Now connecting to your entertainment experience" message.

We also have an older MacBook Pro running Catalina v10.15.7 which still uses Safari v14.1.2 and Xfinity streaming works fine on that.

I was able to install Chrome (v94.0.4606.54) on the Big Sur machine and got Xfinity streaming using that browser.

Just a guess but I suspect that the issue has something to do with the introduction of tab groups into Safari with v15.

Don't know how much help this will be but I have Parallels on my iMac which lets you run windows on a mac. I think it cost like $99.00 a year. I already have it so there's that. But Xfinity stream works fine on Parallels. That being said so did Firefox yesterday so I think there's

a free trial not sure. Anyway hope this helps someone.

Its not Xfinity its apple last update big sir and catalina does not stream Xfinity. Switch browser to google chrome runs no problem. Called Apple they told me use google 🤪. That tells me they are going to merge ios with mos because in ios it runs everytime

@user_2fed7f it won’t run on any browser I try to open it on, other than some random app I have. I think it’s more than just an apple issue.

So many of us have the exact same problem and have talked to both Xfinity & Apple. Two giant companies who would rather play the blame game rather than solve the problem. Some of the best techies work for Apple & yet they are unable or unwilling to take a look at their customer feedback after launching Safari 15 which is almost certainly the culprit. Very disappointing to say the least.

Same issue here.  I did find that Firefox (currently v92.01) is working.  I also have a vitual Mac machine running MacOS 12 Monterrey Beta 7.  Same problem there.

Update:  Firefox stopped working.  My suggestion below (which someone else posted also) is still working.  So, I just dropped it in my Dock and I click that.  I use my MacBook Air 2014, as a TV screen for business news during the day, when I'm working on my iMac.  So this really ticked me off.  I did use the direct website broadcasts of the providers, and that worked.

@sterlingma1  I did the suggestion an earlier poster recommended.  Went to Mac App Store downloaded "Friendly Streaming Browser".  I added tv.xfinity.com and that works.  I did this on a MacBook Air 2014, running Big Sur 11.6.  I have not tested this on the my Monterey 12 beta 7 yet.

I reloaded latest Big Suf from Apple Site and got Safari 14.6.2 after load. I did not update Safari to 15 and everything works fine. I can now get into Xfinity TV streaming without any issues.

Go to youtube there are videos that show you how to use your time machine or how ever you back up your computer. If you didn't backup before update your pretty much stuck with it I think. Im no expert Im sure someone on here can be of more help. But check out youtube I had to do it once before and it worked.

Same problem here ... was just chatting with Xfinity support but they offered no solutions ... didn't even seem to be aware that it was a problem

I chatted with someone yesterday, but at that time I didn't know it was a software problem, so their suggested solutions didn't help.

Glad it's not just me! It's driving me crazy. I'm in the Apple Beta program, so I'm reporting this!
