Re: xfinity streaming on a samsung tv

I was also under the impression that we could use our in-home Xfinity wifi network to wirelessly stream cable tv, DVR, and on-demand to other TVs in the house without having to have a wired connection directly to the cable box.  But I can't figure out how to connect our new LG smart TV in the kitchen to the wifi in the living room.  It says it's connected to the wifi network, but while it has on-screen options for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Vudu, and Google Play, there is neither a similar shortcut for Xfinity X1 nor a way to enter a URL to access the website version of streaming like we could on a laptop or smartphone.

the partner devices like TVs utilize app that are found in the manufacturer's app store. Look for Xfinity stream TV beta as an example. before attempting, it is usually a good idea to first use the TV remote and TV menu to update the TV's firmware/software. After all updates are completed, it is also best to unplug the TV from its AC power for 3-5 minutes.
