Out of home channels

Why are channels like ESPN and Motortrend now not available out of home in the streaming app?

I was sent to a manager and was told that channels like MSNBC, CNN were never available, onlymTVTOGO were available. They are clueless. This isn’t good. What is strange is that I lost everything on a Vizio-firstick, a tcl-roku, my iPhone,my iPad but it still works on another Vizio-fire stick.
I hope it’s just an it bug.

The app was updated overnight to 7.4.0 and nothing has changed.  Still no streaming on cellular.  What good is streaming if you can’t watch live TV on your phone when you’re away from home?

Same issue here. None of the channels excluding NBC are available that I usually watch out of home. It's really frustrating...

@user_b8d794 Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team. I hate to hear this has been your experience. There is currently an ongoing investigation for this issue.

Please send us a PM with your first and last name, as well as house numbers to your service address. Starting yesterday all the “out of home” streaming channels I watched previously at Planet Fitness are now gone.  The Xfinity website still claims numerous channels are available to stream out of home.  This started yesterday.  I have signed out and back in without success.  There appears to be a new iOS app, but that hasn’t solved the issue.

I reset X1 and modem and nothing. I get it to work on 1/3 remote tv, not on iPad, but it does work on PC. This has to be a problem on their end. There is no point in having an app that only lets you watch 8 stations no one cares about. Their marketing says watch live tv, on demand on any screen anywhere.

Same problem...channels I've always watched at the gym now get a message to"connect to in-home wifi" (which does work, actually).  I spent 40 minutes in chat with someone who kept reassuring me and trying to "renews your bootfiles" (really?) and a hard sell to upgrade my internet speed including creepy emails and texts.  Then I went to an Xfinity store where someone poked around on my iPhone and declared that all channels seem to have unlicensed themselves from Xfinity streaming (whaaaat?).  The only things that were changed pre and post losing the channels was a iOS upgrade pushed by Apple the other night and my "forget this network" for xfinity wifi since my phone always tries to log onto them and succeeds but never connects to the internet (so I tend to shut wifi off manually when not at home so the cell signal can be used for data).  Incredibly frustrating!  But I guess that's what everyone here is saying.

I’m wondering if the issue might be caused by my using IOS 16 beta software on my iPhone?  Are other iPhone users, who are experiencing this issue, also using the beta software?

@user_355c9f Good question because I’m wondering if the 15.6 update caused this issue, too. I tried having a chat with Apple last evening, but I got nowhere, unfortunately.  This wouldn’t be the first time an iOS update broke something.  In fact, I think my battery isn’t lasting as long since the update. 🫤

I am having the same problems. Only one cartoontvgo ,nbc and few garage channels. All my previously watched channels gone. Website lists them all, but app just says ‘need inhime WiFi’. Went into store - knew nothing. Hours on phone/online help- never got a person and just sent me in circles.
If anybody finds out the solution please post!

Hello @GalvTexGuy, and thank you for reaching out with your streaming issue. I would be happy to help in any way I can. Can you create your own post with a brief description of the problem you are having yourself, and we would be happy to work with you from there!

I wanted to check in with you, to see if you were still having issues with the Xfinity Stream app in your home.? I can tell that our engineers are aware of these issues and are working on them.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Same problem here. What is the point of streaming in your home? Been on the phone all afternoon and techs no nothing but are also perplexed as to why this is now happening. They’re about to lose a lot of customers and a lot of money.

Hello user_3a6c5d! Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:

  1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon
  2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)
  4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!

Any updates/fix here?

hope it’s not related to the stream beta program being potentially over?

Word is the network licensing changed and the togo lineup is permanent. Xfinity is too cowardly to just say so.

I encourage all users to go to the App Store and give this app a one star review and then tell everyone why! THIS will get the attention of Xfinity (as this forum apparently doesn't).
