On demand replay issue

If I'm watching an on-demand show that doesn't allow get forwarding and then fall asleep before the end, I have to re-watch the entire show up to where I feel asleep to see what I missed. After watching an on-demand show once can't you allow fast forwarding on subsequent viewings?
