No Xfinity stream on 2020 samsungs

Bought a new 7 series Samsung LCD specifically to use the Xfinity stream app in a location without a cable connection. The app is not at the Samsung App Store. After a few hours of Samsung tech support by phone, I asked if there was a supervisor who might know more. Sure enough there was, and he told me that NONE OF THE 2020 models will have the app.

so, do they have an xfinity streaming app or not?

I definitely understand wanting to be able to utilize our Xfinity Stream app. I use it with a few Roku devices in my kid's rooms because they don't usually watch cable. I'm happy to look into this for you, can you please provide me the exact model of your Samsung TV? Also, have you checked to make sure that your TV has the most up to date firmware?

I was hoping they were going to release it but as far as I’m concerned Comcast is greedy and they found too many people using the app for free and not paying for extra boxes. If this is the case as I expect, at least offer it as a paid app for about $5. They don’t have to deal with the hardware and we still get to use the app. Super inconvenient as I own a tv sales and installation company and I have a lot of customers expecting the app to be on their new TVs.

just get a modern version roku and use it as much as you like with the xfinity stream app while connected to your own home wifi.

@Rustyben no, I don’t want to do that. That is NOT an acceptable resolution. I want ONE REMOTE…my TV’s remote. I do not want a Roku dangling behind my wall mounted TV, even if it could fit between it and the wall. The official Xfinity site says all 2020 Samsung TV will work but they don’t. This is more than misleading, it is a lie. Not cool.

Samsung Smart TV 2020 model UN43TU700DFXZA did not find the Xfinifty Stream app. The Samsung software was updated to version T-KTSU2AKUC-1083.0. When will the Xfinity Stream app and this web page be updated for 2020 Samsung TVs?

If 2020 Samsung Smart TVs will not have this service (Xfinity Stream capable), can you please please reply as such so that consumers are aware and will not be waiting for the update. If the Xfinity Stream app is to be updated to support 2020 and future models, is there a road map (expected dates) for the software upgrades posted somewhere.

the Samsung forum or tech support would have to help you as they fix their TV operating system to be compatible and then offer the app on the Samsung app store.

I'm in the same boat... good news is I bought the 2020 version of the LG TV at the same time which DOES have the stream app. I'm planning to return the Samsung and just get another LG. The LG also has voice remote which the Samsung does not have.
