NBC Kansas received on stream in New York State

NBC Kansas received on stream in New York State all of a sudden when the local NBC News for instabce has come out of Burlington VT (which is correct).  I have been receving the stream correctly for the last 2 years when in the New York area, however, now I see another person has the same issue where they get the NBC stream from Kansas when they are streaming in Washington, DC. Now I know it's not my computer, tv, secondary Internet provider (Spectrum) who's network I connect to when streaming thru Comcast. Both Comcast and Spectrum have pointed fingers at each other multiple times. Seeking resolution or feedback from others who have had this problem and if they ever had it resolved. Thanks.
