My hack fix / workaround for TVAPP-00231 problems

Are getting the TVAPP-00231 while trying to watch a channel on the xfinity stream app? Mine is on PBS, Sacramento KVIE 6-1 only.

And the canned fix of "power cycle everything (modem, Roku, TV) and reload the app" does not work?

Try this:

Find the shows you want to watch with the guide.

Set it to record.

Go back to the home screen and select Saved and the show.

For me this works immediately. And now that it is a recording, I have pause and rewind capability. 

Why this works, only God knows. 

I now have the PBS shows I want to watch set to record and you can watch the recording while it is recording.
