Freezing Issues with Xfinity App on Fire TV

I am having a terrible time with content freezing but the audio continues.  I have to exit the program and then go back into it for it to sync again.  I have the same issue on my DVR through the app but usually I can just hit the fast forward button and it will sync up.  Does anyone know of a work around or if they are going to fix this issue.  It is so frustrating.

Thanks!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to reach out to us here on Xfinity Forums. Welcome to the community! I appreciate your patience as we worked as quickly as possible to get to your question. I enjoy watching TV at the end of the day to relax so I'd be frustrated as well in your shoes. I just have a few basic questions. First, have you attempted to uninstall the Xfinity Beta app and reinstall the app instead of just exiting the program? This process will confirm you have the latest software version uploaded and typically solves the problem you have been experiencing.

It fixes itself after less then 20 secs.

I Uninstalled the app,reinstalled it,same thing.

Hello, @wally5399. Thank you for your comment. Have you tried the solution XfinityAnna shared above and is the issue still persisting? Please let us and the community know when you have a moment to give it a try.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I just registered for Xfinity Stream. The Hulu app did not have this issue when watching live TV. Since I started using the Xfinity Stream app, this happens all of the time. Is Xfinity going to fix this issue with their app?  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I’ve also confirmed my bandwidth is over 700 MB.

Hello, @guitartimc. Are you having the same issue with the Xfinity Stream app freezing, but audio continuing, on Fire TV?

I no longer work for Comcast.

The Stream App isn't supported by xfinity on Amazon hardware products.  At least thats what I've been told by several xfinity reps which is why I was forced to buy Roku devices.

I'm having similar issues with the stream app on my Samsung tablet, the feed will just stop.  I have to hit pause then play to get it going again.  Uninstalled/reinstalled a couple times, this does nothing to fix the issue, but seems to be the go to solution around here.  The stream beta app is also horrible most of the time, audio sync issue, favorites tab won't load, etc....  For a huge company I would think we could get better apps to use with the service we pay for.

Hello @kcchiefs2005, thanks for visiting us on our Forums page! I am sorry to hear about the troubles you’re experiencing when trying to watch the Xfinity Stream app on your Samsung tablet. It’s upsetting to hear you feel this way and that you’re experiencing these issues. To confirm, have you attempted to see if you run into these same issues when utilizing the app on another mobile device or when watching on the https://www.xfinity.com/stream/ website?

Coming up on my 4th month of xfinity tv streaming.  I’ve only just used on 2 firestick devices. As of 3 days ago, some channels started freezing (video) with the background audio working. As of yesterday, more channels joined in. Called xfinity and was told they’re currently working on bugs/kinks and sorry for the inconvenience but it’ll go back to normal soon. Well, it’s been 3 days and it has only gotten worse - more channels have joined the “fun”.  I only see a frozen screen of a prior show I was watching with white boxes that flicker on the top of the screen BUT the audio is all current. This is frustrating. I’ve uninstalled and installed this app quite possibly a dozen times in the last 2 days, rebooted all devices (modem/router, fire sticks, my phone) several times. This is just too much. I’m just about ready to switch to the old traditional cable box and remote.
