Emergency Alert tests break Xfinity Stream

Since the March 13 Xfinity Stream update on Roku, you have broken the weekly Emergency Alert tests. The alert shows pages 1 to 3 then restarts at 1 and freezes at page 2.

Trying other channels, restating the app or Roku does not fix it. Makes Stream utterly useless as it’s unwatchable on all channels.

I have video captured of the behavior.

Hi there, Bagogas! Thank you for letting us know what happens when an Emergency Alert comes up. I apologize that is freezing up and interrupting your viewing. How do you get the service working again once that happens? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Xfinity Stream app on the Roku?

I have not reinstalled the app, but it’s been impossible to change the behavior. The only thing we are able to do is wait one hour for the EA test to expire.

eg: the most recent test was at 10:43 pm on April 2. the test interruption stops occurring one hour later (11:43 pm).
