Can no longer view recorded content through Xfinity Stream app on iPad Pro or iPhone 12 Pro. Choppy, pixelated, and UNWATCHABLE!

Up until about a week ago, I could watch scheduled recordings from Xfinity Stream app on my iPad Pro or iPhone 12 Pro with absolutely no issues. About a week or so ago video content became choppy and pixelated and has remained that way up until this writing. I have tried EVERY tech support avenue and no answers. All I seem to reach for tech support are people in India or the Philippines. They are very nice and professional for most part, but problem persists. I live in America and it would be nice to talk with some sort of tech support from the mainland. Disappointed.

Wanted to clarify comment about "choppy" video. "Freezing" frames better describes the issue I think. Pixelation seems to be less common today? Thanks for any help.

Hello @user_c3e019! We appreciate you for posting and sharing your experience when attempting to stream using the Xfinity Stream app on your iPad and iPhone recently. I know how frustrating that can be and wanted to see how we can help get this fixed. When this happens, are you connected to your in-home WiFi network or on the go?

Hey there, @user_679074

Did you try power cycling the iPhone or iPad to see if that works? I have seen a couple comments over the forums of customers stating that fixed it for them. Let us know if you tried that!

I am having the same issue. I am connected to my in-home WiFi network on my Ipad, and the shows that I try to watch start "stuttering" and then just close out of the Xfinity App. Up until now, I was always able to watch shows using Xfinity Streaming on my Ipad, but for the past few days I can't

I have had the exact same problem on iPad and iPhone. It does not do it on a Samsung phone. Is there something that was changed on the xfinity app that affects Apple devices?

I was thinking about this, and I realized that similar to the previous poster, I too was traveling and had the problem once I got home. I was wondering if this had something to do with putting the Ipad into Airplane mode. But then I did what I should have done in the first place - I turned the Ipad off and then back on. This seems to have fixed the issue.

Turning it off and on did not resolve the issue on my iPad. I am running iOS 14.8.1 and xfinity steaming app version 6.12.0.2163.   Anyone have any other suggestions?

If you have already tried to turn it off and back on, have you checked the version to make sure that the app is up to date? Have you also tried to log out and back in again to see if that clears anything? We are aware of some people who do have issues with the Stream app at this time, but this may be something different for you. If you would like, and you have tried all these things already, @user_18959e, you can send me a DM as well.

I have the same problem on my iPhone and iPad. Not on my MacBook, though. Tried all the things above (updates, sign out then back on).  This is a bit frustrating. Used to work flawlessly. Doesn’t matter if I download to my device.

I’m having the same issue on my iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 15.1.1 and Xfinity app Version is 6.12.0.2163. I’ve been having this issue for the last 5-6 weeks. It happens when I download a recording, when I’m on my home Wi-Fi, or if I’m out and about. The sound is running smoothly without skipping but the video is skipping/choppy and is sometimes pixelated like someone mentioned above. I’ve power cycled my phone, signed out and back in and even deleted the app and its still not working. If anyone has a solution please let me know. Thanks.

About a month ago, the video on my Lenovo Android tablet started to get choppy. Video is fine with any other app, but the Xfinity app has this problem. I have tried restarting. I have tried logging out and back in. I have tried re-installing the app. Nothing.
