App Error TVAPP-00166
I was booted out of my Xfinity streaming app on my Samsung TV. When I tried to get back on the app, I received Error TVAPP-00166. I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled. I receive the same error each time I try to get into the app. I have had A LOT of problems with the Xfinity app, I have reported it several times to the FCC for assistance since Xfinity support does not respond to has not resolution. So, the only way to get a response is to escalate it to the FCC. Can someone from Xfinity support get this fixed, or do I need to open another complaint with the FCC in order to get assistance?

Been going on in Pittsburgh today too. Xfinity online agent hung up on me... :(
This happened last summer and it took several days to get it fixed. Something about an update they pushed out that was incompatable with Samsung.

Broken in St Paul, MN too. Thanks for giving us a reason to finally cancel, Xfinity.

I have spent 8 hours trying to access the Xfinity Stream app to no avail. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and unplug my TV. I finally got thru to a tech support person who said the problem was my TV, not Xfinity. However, I also have an Amazon Fire Stick device with its app on the same TV and I can access the Xfinity Stream app thru the Fire Stick without any problems. It doesn't make any sense to me that I can indirectly access the Xfinity app, but not directly get it to work. The Xfinity app has pretty much been problematic since it was put into use. And I pretty much have to go in at least weekly to reauthorize the app, which in itself is problematic. Xfinity is the only cable/streaming service where I live so the only other option is satellite. All my other streaming apps work perfectly so I know that it's not my TV.

I have been having the same problem. If your systems do not work then just sell the internet and do not attempt to charge me something for your other WORKING applications to watch TV and movies. Forcing me into your ecosystem when it does not work consistently is extremely frustrating. You should give us all a significant credit on our bills to compensate us for your failures. I am talking about a credit for a full month of all of my xfinity services for each time this occurs. I am sure xfinity will quickly solve the problem so that it rarely, if ever, happens again.

Ditto for me. Tried over an 8 hour period to open the app using everything that could possibly be done with no success. Called Xfinity support numerous times only to be told by robo there was a 21 to 59 minute wait time. When I finally got thru, I was told the problem was with my smart TV, even though it works perfectly with the other installed apps that are available. Ironically, I can access the Xfinity app indirectly going through the Amazon Fire Stick app that's also installed on my TV. How would that be possible if the error code was caused by the TV rather than Xfinity? Where I live, Xfinity has the a monopoly on cable/streaming service so the only other option is satellite service which would be problematic due to living in a heavily wooded area. Xfinity's streaming service is highly problematic with some kind of technical interruption on a weekly basis. Luckily, we have one TV that is attached to Xfinity cable that hardly ever goes out. However, it would be cost prohibited to switch all our TVs to cable because of the $10.00 per cable box monthly rental fee. And of course, Xfinity does not offer discounts on the cable boxes.

I am having the same problem in Chattanooga, TN. I have reinstalled the app and it still isn't working. I'm holding for a human now. How dare xfinity customers expect to be able to utilize the service they pay for.

Spoke to an actual person with Xfinity. Said it’s an issue between Samsung and App. They are working to resolve.
