App Error TVAPP-00166
I was booted out of my Xfinity streaming app on my Samsung TV. When I tried to get back on the app, I received Error TVAPP-00166. I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled. I receive the same error each time I try to get into the app. I have had A LOT of problems with the Xfinity app, I have reported it several times to the FCC for assistance since Xfinity support does not respond to has not resolution. So, the only way to get a response is to escalate it to the FCC. Can someone from Xfinity support get this fixed, or do I need to open another complaint with the FCC in order to get assistance?

So it’s Samsung TVs then. I’m in Oregon and experienced this before roughly 5-6 months ago. It’s an issue with the coding for the app update that XFinity does that does not respond to Samsung setting. They had to communicate with Samsung about the issue. I gave up for like two weeks and then tried again and it worked.

Same issue here with our Samsung TV. It's been doing this on and off [Edited: "Language"] for the last 2 weeks. Today now I get this TVAPP-00166 CODE even tho it tells my I've successfully connected my device! Yet, no TV. I can not believe I'm paying $140/mo for this [Edited: "Language"] app. I've tried to get help, the online assistant is useless. I've even tried calling and been hung up on. It's rediculous!

I’m having the same issue in Florida. Have reset and restarted and nothing. It worked fine yesterday until their so called scheduled maintenance that took place overnight and now it doesn’t work.

Same on a Samsung TV in Colorado. Works fine on IOS, and other apps on the TV are fine. But TVAPP-00166 perpetually on the TV even after uninstalling and reinstalling Xfinity Stream.
And their virtual assistant is useless.

Looks like it may be exclusive to certain model Samsungs. My newer models aren't having the problem, but my 2021 model is the only one.

Same issue for me. Try to sign in, it give meca 6 digital code. I go to xfinity.com/authorize, enter the number and on my phone it says successful, but the tv says error TVAPP-00166. After multiple times trying this, after putting up with xfinities [Edited: "Language"] answer service, I talked to some who, after trying some things said wait an hour and they would call me back. After an hour I tried again with the same error. I got the call and it dropped after a few minutes. I called back and after the usual frustration talked to someone who said the same, we'll call you in an hour. 6 hours later and I'm still waiting.
