Xfinity Mobile Phone Billing Options
Ok I am one of those people WITHOUT a cell phone. I never really cared for surfing the web on a tiny tablet. I know a lot of people love to do this. I just don't, please don't take offense.
What I want to know is there a way to buy the cheapest phone from Xfinity through an online purchase through the website and have it set up to just use Wifi if needed for just talk and text. I would never use any of the data at all. I just want to be able to call.
One rep told me that I could months ago but it sounded really fishy. She mentioned I could get unlimited talk & text ALONE.
I just need this phone for emergency calling and to call to the store to bring the food order to my car. This pandemic is certainly the scariest time in my life.
I see the phones
Motorola moto g⁷ power
Samsung Galaxy A50
These phones seem inexpensive.
And how do you clean a phone?
Any useful tips and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

@Nick_Balandiat Thank you for posting to the forum. Yes we do have a few very affordable devices (phones) to choose from. You could get your monthly payment as low as $12.00 per month plus tax if you pay for the phone in full at the time of purchase assuming that you are an Xfinity/Comcast customer with at least high speed internet. The $12.00 is for the 1GB data minimum charge.
Regarding how to clean a phone, i have attached a link for you, hope that helps.

One rep told me once I could turn off the data altogether. She told me I would still unlimited talk and text. I guess they don't do that anymore. I would use ZERO data.

hi Nick. Your idea will work except for the zero data. It is easy to use less than 1G of data but evidently impossible to use zero data even if your phone is in airplane-wifi-only. I'm doing some power-off tests with to try to see if xfinity admin page can report that my Samsung S8 used zero point zero data when powered off. Seems I may need to leave it powered off for an entire month to test that idea. sincerely, your extreme data hoarder, bald 2.71828
ps - Go for it. Also do whatever you can to get an iphone. $200 rebate on iphones gets you close to one of those low-end androids, and it is very likely that you will enjoy the $199 iphone-7 more than you would enjoy a $1000 android phone if there are such things.

The $200 rebate is only when you TRANSFER a number from another carrier. I do not have a cell phone at all. This pandemic is the only reason I am considering a cell phone.

According to the Xfinity rep I just talked to I found you can't do the zero data plan anymore. All I wanted was a phone so I could stay in my car and have my groceries brought to me. This is way to confusing. I would never use the phone for ANYTHING else.
So what's the point. I'll probably eventually get coronavirus eventually anyway. I may look at Tracphone or Consumer Cellular. Xfinity isn't that great it seems!

hi Nick - sounds like maybe you would do best with a wifi-only tablet (iPad/kindle) or any old cellphone without service - maybe you can find a store that can communicates by web page or skype or facetime or google duo or whatsapp or email. And with free wifi that reaches parking-lot - so hopefully no need for cellular service whatsoever?

You can buy a tracfone for under $10 at Walmart or Target, it is just a cheap flip phone.. Right now you can get sim at ebay for $30.00 this gives you a year of service with 1000 minutes and 1000 txt messages, plus some data.. I have used tracfone for years, and no issues at all..
