wifi calling

I have an S10. When I make a call on wifi and go to my car and pull out away from wifi, does not switch to mobile network and drops call.

The reverse is true too.

Getting close to giving up on Xfinity.

Here are two things to consider that could be causing dropped calls:

1.) Try enabling VoLTE as it is more likely to automatically switch between cellular and WiFi Calling.

2.) Set your phone’s WiFi connection to either 2.4 or 5 Ghz, not both, preferably 2.4 Ghz for longer range. A call will drop if your phone switches from one to the other, say when you are leaving your house, and even before your phone tries to switch to a cellular connection.

Thanks for the reply.

It is set for VoLTE.

My wifi does not have 2.4 or 5 Ghz.

I don’t know what WiFi router you are using, but if it is really old it would only have 2.4 GHz. Check your user manual or Google how to change your router settings for whatever model you have. This may not be your issue, but it has been as issue for many people.
