WiFi calling does not work properly

Two Issues: 1. When I answer a call when WiFi is on the call is immediately dropped.

2. My iphone7 randomly switches between Xfinity mobile signal and WiFi...no rhyme or reason for it.

I have Xfinity for my Internet service and my cell service. I've been a technologist for over 40 years.  I've repaired everything from aircraft instrucments to computer systems.   This appears to be a software issue somewhere on the Xfinity side.

When I call Xfinity I get low end representatives that have no idea what they are saying.  One said she would put in a call report so I would get to a higher level person...she never did it.  The next one tried to tell me that I had to turn off my internet service, select WiFi on the phone and then turn the internet service back on.  When I told her that doesn't make any sense she switched her tune and said it was an Apple problem so call them.  I said no I want to talk to someone of authority.  She said a supervisor will call within 24 hours.  I'm not going to hold my breathe on that one.

The Xfinity customer care for iphones is really terrible.  I have an iPhone 7 plus.  Has anyone figured out a solution?

Spouse saw this around "day 1" with xfinity-mobile iPhone 7 wifi-calling years ago has and never reenabled it.    I'll try to find this thread again after I re-test iPhone 7 over wifi-calling here in a couple hours.     Btw, have you tested with phone plugged to lightning-charger?   If that fixes the issue then phone needs new battery.    (Most iPhone 7s probably need a new battery by now given the likely # of years in service for each.)

Thanks but my battery is at full charge.  This appears to be a software issue which has not been addressed by Xfinity.  It may be an issue between Xfinity and Apple.  I'm just not sure since Xfinity will not give me a proper answer.

I have an iPhone 7 and my WiFi Calling now works as of the first week in April when I decided to test it out again based on other threads in the forum.

My iPhone is up to date with iOS 13.4.1 with Carrier shown as Xfinity Mobile 41.0

I suggest that you:

1.) Turn off, then turn on WiFi Calling, then go into the Update Emergency Address and accept the terms and conditions and click on Continue, then hit the back arrow and verify that it is now or still shows that WiFi Calling is on.
2.) Turn on Airplane mode (so that cellular is off and WiFi is on) and see if Xfinity Mobile changes to XM WiFi.

Good luck

My iOS is updated. Xmobile is 38.0. How did you get to 41.0

Power Off, then Power On, then check your carrier again to see if it changed to 41.0

If that doesn’t work then try settings, general, reset, reset network settings. Unfortunately you will have to re-enter all your WiFi passwords.
