set up wi-fi direct

My new Brother MFC-J4535DW AIO printer has Wi-Fi Direct. What must I do to my moto g7 power phone to get it to work with the printer?  I have installed Brother iPrint&Scan and Brother Mobile Connect and the phone prints using my Xfinity home network, but now I'd like to be able to print using Wi-Fi Direct.

Did you follow the User Guide instructions beginning on page 312? (See https://support.brother.com/g/s/id/htmldoc/mfc/cv_mfc4335dw/use/html/GUID-DC088375-775B-49A5-ABEF-4A155622F7C7_233.html?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcj4535dw_us_eu&broug=in )

What problem are you having exactly?

OK. I got my phone & printer TO CONNECT/PRINT VIA WI-FI DIRECT once today. Hooray! .. not sure exactly what I did. It seems like on the printer console I went to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Direct > Push Button. The printer then told me to Activate the other device. I did so. My phone gave me the option to Configure so I did. .. ended up entering the Password showing on the printer console (it seems as though the password changes every time) into my phone & voila, the console soon showed Connected. Now, instead of offering me the option to Configure, my phone offers me the option to Start PBC, while @ the same time telling me to Press Wi-Fi Protect Setup Button or some such. Anyway, I was able to print via Wi-Fi Direct once, so that is a good thing, but now I need to make it repeatable. .. also need to find out what Start PBC means as well as where to find the Wi-Fi Protect Setup Button, or whatever exactly I was asked.
