Pixel 4 carrier wifi

I do door dash and grub hub and use my phone all day. I'm having an issue getting offers due to my pixel 4 going in and out of carriers wifi Hotspot. I shut off the wifi and hit forget on the wifi Hotspot but it turns it back on again..... and... depending how far away the signal is its got no internet many times. I want to disable this!

Within your WiFi settings, maybe advanced settings, do you have an option similar to what is available in iOS - "Ask to Join Networks". If so, change to Ask or On. This should help, but even on iOS it doesn't always work.

Hi Billybudz420, thank you for taking the time to reach us through the Forum. I am sorry to hear you are having some trouble with ensuring your device is not auto-connecting to the WIFI Hotspots. I am happy to provide some troubleshooting assistance.

We do not have an option to disable your device from connecting to WIFI on our end. You can however go through your settings to stop your device from auto-connecting if its available. I understand you have already forgot the network that your device keeps trying to auto-connect to. You can try the below steps.

Open the settings and go to Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi preferences. Tap the button next to Connect to open networks to disable it.

Please let me know what happens after you try this.

It is no longer possible to disable auto connecting to Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots due to a regression with the release of Android 10.
