New phone discount for existing customers

I'm an existing Xfinity mobile customer which has 2 lines and both phones paid for. I recently cracked the screen on my phone so figured it was time for a new phone. I love Xfinity mobile and would like to stay but if getting a phone is cheaper with another provider, I will go that route. I've decided to get a Google Pixel 4 XL which is $300 off with a new line and xfer of number. I can transfer my number out from Xfinity mobile and cancel the service then get a new line and transfer the number back in to get the discounted rate but thought since I've been with the company, I'd check to see if I could get it without going through that hassle and I wouldn't consider going with another provider that was as well. Please let me know. Thanks.

I got it figured out. Anyone on a shared data plan can get a discount pretty easily. Since additional lines cost nothing extra on the shared data plans, I just added an additional line, got a Google voice number (which is free), port that number over to the new line ($3 charge from Google). I'm then going to switch the numbers on the phones so my old number is on the new phone. The other line will probably have to stay active due to the payment plan on the phone but costs nothing additional where it's on a shared plan. An Xfinity rep on the online chat assisted me with coming up with this option. It is an option for anyone that's an existing customer wanting a discounted phone.

I'm getting the phone on Tuesday. Hoping the switch of the phone numbers on the phones go smoothly. Will update here for any interested.

Worked like a charm. Have the new phone with my old number and the discount and a old phone with the new number that won't be used and not charging any extra where we're on the shared limited data plan.

Sounds like a good idea... 🙂

I just called customer service and was told that if I add a new line with a transferred number to get the discount and afterwards swap devices, I will lose the discount. That doesn't make sense to me and contradicts what you said. Did you have to do anything beyond swapping SIM cards in order to swap devices afterwards? Thanks

Discount for existing customers should be automatic!

"Like" this if you agree!

I own 3 phones with Xfinity Mobile. Two that are in use have battery bulge (after 4 years of use) so I want to swap my main number to the third phone that has been in storage. Plus I want to buy a new 5G phone. But why do existing customers have to go through the "game" to get a deal?
