iphone SE visual voicemail

Hello,

I recently migrated from an Android phone to an iPhoneSE and I cannot get visual voicemail to work. I found some others on the forum with the same issue that seems to have been resolved by @ComcastChrisL, but he doesn't seem to be active lately. Per the thread, he has been able to reset the voicemail to enable visual voicemail. Can anyone else help? I've tried to address him directly, but do not seem to be able to do so via his personal page.

Thanks,

Michael

I had to be patient and call customer service on a day when I had things to do around the house. I called on a different phone than the one I needed help on. I was on hold for about 45 min then talked to first agent and went through his protocol and asked for technical help then he agreed to get someone else involved, I had to wait for another hour for them to call me back. This person was very helpful and in about 30 minutes the problem was fixed. Good luck

I cannot figure out how to post on this thing hopefully this will work. I don't have an iPhone but I have a new Samsung galaxy s20 ultra 5g bought new when I switched to XM several months ago. Apparently this is a common issue, I too cannot get actual real visual voicemail (I mean thr transcriptions of the voicemail into a msg) its literally not even an option i only get the option to click on a voicemail and listen to it, which is annoying and I am less likely to even bother listening to them. I wasted HOURS chatting with customer care who kept insisting on following particular set of steps to get into jt but he was just telling me how to click on the native voicemail app. He said that was the visual voicemail. Really frustrating but I've read enough on here to believe it IS POSSIBLE to get visual voicemail it just apparently is an ordeal and considering even the cheapest prepaid carrier and phone I've ever had has had this ability I am irritated that I have a top of the line expensive new phone and am paying twice as much a month as I was paying before and I don't even have access to what I consider a basic and necessary voicemail option. And the customer care reps on chat and the phone really know how to play stupid and give the run around and disconnect from you after 2 hours of them waiting on hold to reach a superior, all the while it sounds like xfinity mobile has a huge issue with its visual voicemail app/native app ans doesn't feel the need to let us know and be honest, offering easy to find Instructions to fix or employing decent enough care reps who they bother to educate and teach the solution to this apparently most common issue with this mobile provider. I was trying to private message this Chris guy but I think I can't until I post publicly so I'm hoping my little rant here will allow me to private message him and finally get my voicemail back I'm literally about to drive myself insane lol. Thanks you guys !

+1 Same issue here.  Transferred from another provider with a new Iphone se.

1.  No option to "set up"  voicemail.

2.  I do get some messages in the messages app - they look like garbled data but seem related to voice mail.

Hello, I am desperately tryijng to unlock my phone.  On Dec 10th I switched to another provider and have been unable to activate my phone because it is locked by Xfinity Mobile.  I've been calling into the phone support for several days and the hold is never-ending.

 @ComcastChrisL

I have just ported from Verizon on Pixel 3 to Xfinity on Iphone 12 pro, my wife and I have this exact problem. No VM notifications and no Visual Voicemail. We can check VM by going to phone and tapping the VM tab but only option there is "Call Voicemail" where we have to enter our VM PIN.

There is no option to setup up visual voicemail since we activated our new phones.

We keep receiving these odd messages from VZ that state the following:

//

VZWVVM:SYNC:EV=MBU;DEV_T=5

And looking this up I believe Verizon is still trying to sync Visual Voicemail instead of Xfinity mobile so I fear this feature is missing on our account.

Try this. Hit the call voicemail option and enter 0000

If this doesn't get you anywhere you will need to call XM support and since you previously were using Android they need to modify your VVM server settings.

You need to call XM and they need to change some of their back end settings since iOS and Android voice mail work much differently. Unfortunately their porting process isn't smart enough to figure out that you may have a new device and therefore maybe a new OS.
