Hi,    When I delete email from my phone it is also deleted from the email server. Can that be stopped?

@rightfooted Thanks for the articles. The first one about changing POP to IMAP, I already have everything on IMAP. The second article I read this,  "IMAP makes it easier to sync your email on multiple devices because your folders and mail remain on our server until you move or delete them with your device. With IMAP, the email changes you make on one device, like your smartphone, are reflected on your other devices, like your laptop.". That must be what is happening. I also have an Amazon Fire 10 tablet but it does not do that. I guess it is another one of those things a person has no control over.

@RND1023 Thank you for reaching back out to us. @rightfooted is correct with the articles linked that the IMAP email server is specifically set up that way that when the email is deleted from the device it is deleted from the server itself because the server is synced between all connected devices. This would be functioning as intended. You may try configuring as POP as mentioned in the article, but this would move the email off the server completely and onto the devices, which would still remove it from the main inbox.

I no longer work for Comcast.

@XfinityOtto    Hi,   What do you do when there isn't a new message link and the pencil and paper is grayed out? I am logged in.

Hi there, @RND1023 Thank you for taking the time out of your day to speak with us regarding your emails being deleted from the Xfinity servers when you delete the emails on your phone. If a message is deleted less than 14 days ago it should still be in there.  If not, right-click on the Trash folder, and in the drop-down click on "Recover deleted items".  After 14 days the messages drop into that folder from Trash and stay there another 30 days. Anything that is not in that folder will not be recoverable.-Richard

Hi Richard, My name is also Richard. Yes, I know you can go thru all of that to get them back. My question was if there are any settings or something to prevent the deletion by the phone so I don't have to go thru all of that to get them back in the first place.
