1.) It is unlikely that Xfinity Mobile will have eSIM support anytime soon, if ever. The FCC has balked at requiring the major carriers or anyone else to provide it and the major carriers have not made it easy to get it.

2.) Also, iPhones can only have one CDMA carrier, so you will not be able to have two Xfinity Mobile or Verizon lines on one phone until Verizon transitions off of CDMA, which they have promised.

You can have an Xfinity Mobile SIM and an AT&T or T-Mobile eSIM but it takes a little work.

I can confirm..... that you can have Xfinity and Verizon on the same phone.

I just stopped at Verizon and put my work line on my iPhone 11 Pro Max as the eSim line.

So I have Xfinity (physical sim) and Verizon (eSim) on the same phone.

Walking into Verizon and getting the line setup on the esim took about 5 minutes.   simple process

This is good news for eSIM capable phones, and goes along with Verizon's transition away from CDMA.  Finally!

I wonder how long it will take for XM to climb aboard?

Hi
Did you buy your iphone from xfinitymobile? I bought iphone11 from xfinity, fully paid and then unlocked it, yet, xfinity tells me that i cant use tmobile or verizon or any other carriers esim as my 2nd line because xfinity disables/blicks esim feature on devices sold by xfinity.. Is that true?

Once the phone is unlocked they cannot prevent you from using the esim.

We bought my brother's Iphnoe Xr from XM and had to get the eSIM unlocked. We called XM and asked them to unlock the eSIM because he was traveling to Europe and was buying an eSIM data only plan from GigSky. It worked fine in most of Europe as well as the US.

Do the following:

1.) Call XM and get your eSIM unlocked. As I recall they required the phone to be active for 90 or more days before they would unlock it

2.) Once unlocked you should be able to go to any non-CDMA carrier that has eSIM plans and get an eSIM activated. You may even be able to get a Verizon eSIM if you find a knowledgeable person who can activate a non-CDMA eSIM, because iPhones can only have one CDMA account.

Good luck! Please post if and when you are successful.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to post to the forum and pardon my delayed response as we greatly appreciate everyone’s time and patience.

As of now, Xfinity Mobile does not support eSIMS.

However, if an Xfinity Mobile customer wants to activate their eSIM on a device that has Dual SIM with another carrier that does support eSIM, they are able to do so as long as the device is unlocked.

Per my current understanding, the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and later models feature a Dual SIM. No Android device sold within the U.S. have Dual SIM capabilities.

Really hope this helps.  I’ll continue to check in and inform of any developments.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you Chris for the confirmation.

So currently I have IPhone 11 Pro and I like to have Verizon plan from work  (using hard sim) and I can get eSim with xfinity for my personal plan in the same phone?  I went to the xfinitiy store a few months back and the employee there told me they don't support this confiugration.

No Xfinity only supports esim on the Apple Watch. You would need to use a physical card for Xfinity and an esim for Verizon

Hey Chris,
I have a US Google Pixel 3a which supports dual SIM (One physical & one esim) so there are obviously Android phones which support dual SIM, contrary to your info. The Pixel 4 which you sell also has the same dual SIM capability.
Since Xfinity mobile is based on Verizon and they support esims, when will you support them?

Chris, I’m in the US and I purchased my Pixel 3a XL in the US and it has dual SIM. I had two numbers on that phone, one with T-Mobile and one with AT&T.

+1. My wife and I switched to XMo and both now have Pixel 4 XL / 4, respectively. We would like to use eSIM as we travel frequently and also live in a weird coverage area and I don't always want to rely on wifi calling.

Chris, could you please look into this again, or maybe even help us push Comcast to support it? Verizon has supported eSIM for some time now, and seeing as how you guys are an MVNO off of them... ya know? Please let us know of any progress. Thanks!
