"Mail server denies access"

I'm trying to access my @comcast.net email account to use it as a backup email for a couple of services that require one for 2FA. I had changed the username on the email before I'd ever used it and now I can't access the email, whenever I try to access it through connect.xfinity.com I get a "Mail server denies access" error. A quick search of these very forums shows that this is a known problem going back for years, so you'd think that if this bug wasn't fixed by now (which it certainly should have been), then at least customer service should have SOME knowledge of this issue and be able to fix it. So as a last resort I'm posting here hoping to get this fixed. It's ridiculous that so many people have trouble accessing the services they are paying for.

I'm having the same problem. Waiting for a callback from Comcast, but not optimistic based on the number of posts about this error.

What are the incoming and outgoing server names for xfinity email?  I can still access my email using xfinity.com but lost the server names when I did an upgrade on my iMac so can’t access email using the Apple email app.
