Xfinity xFI App and web interface not connecting

Internet is working fine. Attempting to use the xFi app for the first time to manage devices. After logging into the app and web interface I get errors saying it's unavailable and to try again later. Is there something I need to do for the initial setup?

Yeah I have an Xfinity gateway. It actually started working later that night. Must have just been temporarily down.
