Xfinity Tv Remote App
Come on Xfinity you should have a customer experience team do some research before you sunset an app that is critical for so many people. My dad is nearly 80 years old and this app was critical in me helping him find channels and doing it remotely. How is it that you all can’t seem to understand in 2024 that apps are important.
Then you shut it down and don’t inform your customer service team they have no idea and to top it all off are making up nonsense so they can get a good rating at the end of the call. I called in 3 times and each time the rep says the app is still available when clearly it is not. Then they said the app will be available again in 24-48 hours per their “app escalation desk” which I am now convinced does not exist. Then one of the reps put me on hold, while they talked to the supervisor and surprise the chat was somehow disconnected.
The issue is that this customer service team is based in another country and has no idea how to help but they are clearly incented on call resolution ratings so they make up stuff that is not true.
For those that need a solution, I have been using the web remote and the streaming app to see what is on live tv and what channels.
Not ideal at all but at least we have that and I can Still help my 80 year old dad and turn the channel for him remotely from my phone. You will need to input the channel number, then press ok on the web remote.

PLEASE PLEASE restore the app. I used it for my 80 year old dad who needed help remotely finding and changing channels. You should really be ashamed of yourself as a company how difficult is it to do some research and pull usage before you cancel an app in 2024. Your service is horrible but my dad has no other choice.

@user_0wncxz On December 18, the Xfinity TV Remote app was decommissioned and removed from the Apple Store and Google Play. However, as of December 19, customers who still have the app on their mobile devices should be able to use it as they would normally. The app is just no longer available for download. As long as you do not remove the app from your phone or your dads he will still be able to use it.
