xfinity app not working on devices with an ethernet connection

hello. i have an android device which is connected to the internet via ethernet only and not data nor wifi, and the xfinity app keeps telling me that an internet connection is required to access the app, even though the ethernet connection is working completely fine. is there any way i can do this? weather it be a feature in a future app update or a workaround i dont mind but i cannot connect to data nor wifi in this case

@user_7gnyl7 I’m sorry to hear you're having an issue with connecting to the internet. Our team is here to help resolve your concerns.

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps already?

Can you see your Wi-Fi network to connect to?

How are you connected? Are you on Wi-Fi or using an ethernet cord to your device?

Are multiple devices unable to connect to the internet or just one?

i am not having issues connecting to the internet. my device is connected to the internet just fine, but the xfinty app refuses to recognize ethernet as a valid form of internet. the screen saying "An internet connection is needed to access the app" comes up

@user_7gnyl7 Thank you for clarifying for me about the XFINITY App. Glad to know your internet connection is working.

Are you connected to your homes Wi-Fi network when this happens?

If you toggle your Wi-Fi on and off does the error go away?

Is this happening on more than one device?

If you were to uninstall the app, reinstall and power your device off and on, is the error still there?

i am not connected to wifi when this happens, and turning wifi on and off does not fix it. uninstalling the app removes the error because the error is the app itself. the issue is that the app doesn't recognize ethernet as a valid internet connection. when could i expect a fix for this?

Thank you for the information. What type of device are you using that app on?

Are you having the same issue with any other applications? Or just our Xfinity App? Did you try enabling the "Ethernet tethering" feature in your phone's settings and restarting your phone?
