Xfi app not seeing my gateway

I have a leased modem for my phone as well as a leased gateway from Xfinity. The Xfinity app onl shows my phone modem. When I setup the gateway so the app will see my connected devices my home phone disconnects from the modem. How do I get the app to see both the modem and the gateway?
