xFi advanced security

How can I tell if I have successfully loaded xfi advanced security? With Norton, I always have the icon with a green checkmark to know I am protected but I don't see anything similar for the xfi security? How do I know if everything connected to my WiFi is protected?

Be aware that although Comcast is portraying xFi Advanced Security as a complete replacement for the Norton software they are dropping (see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/norton-security-online-sunset), that's a gross exaggeration. It's more like a supplement. For example, Advanced Security cannot detect threats that arrive in encrypted ("https") data streams. Only software running on the customer's computer or mobile device where the stream is decrypted can do that.

Users who relied on Norton should subscribe to the paid version or install another antivirus program or app to take the place of the AV program Comcast is dropping.

So this advanced socalled security does not really help me with keeping my Lap top secure, let alone allowing me to scan it for issues?

So what am I paying for?

It becomes an issue when your laptop is removed from your home WiFi network that is protected with Advanced Security.  We’ve had it on our router almost since the beginning.  However, I can recommend Malwarebytes Premiumfor any operating system or mobile device, but it does cost money yearly.
