WAN IP on App doesn’t match WAN IP on router GUI

I think my Xfinity Gateway / Router ( XB7 TG4482A) is being cloned and or manipulated.

On the App when I go to Internet / advanced settings / Lan & WAN …it shows me what my WAN IP addresses are for my IPV4 & IPV6 connections.

When I hook up an Ethernet cable to my Xfinity router and connect to the routers GUI via 10.0.0.1, I get completely different WAN IP addresses for my IPV4 & IPV6 than what the app shows.

In the past they were the same and there is no reason for the app and router gui to show different WAN IPs

please help!

Hello @user_366742, thanks for reaching out to our team on Forums. Are you connecting to a VPN by chance?

No not using a vpn,  this is not a VPN thing these are IPs coming from Xfinity.

This is comparing IP data between the router and the app and it should be the same. It’s no different than going on the Xfinity app to see what devices are connected to your network versus going to your router via 10.0.0.1 to see what devices are connected to your network. They should both show the same devices connected to the network, just as they should both show the same wan ipv4 and IPv6 addresses, but they don’t!

My wan Ip addresses on my Xfinity app is not the same wan IP that my Xfinity router says and they definitely should be.

Thank you for that information. When is the last time you rebooted your Xfinity Gateway? Is that something you can do now by unplugging your equipment for a few minutes and then plugging it back in? Resetting your connection can help realign the details that go along with your internet service.
