The Wifi tab on the xfinity app is missing, I can’t access my router settings.

I can’t access my router settings on the xfinity app, the wifi tab is completely missing, the only tabs I have are the overview tab and the account tab. I have no way of adjusting my router setting now that you can’t simply adjust them on the computer anymore. I’ve been googling around for solutions to no avail. One of the only people I’ve seen online get this solved said to post on here and try get an upper level tech to look at my account. Any help appreciated thanks.

Thanks for posting on our community forums for assistance, user_tf2lvv. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Xfinity App? Is this happening on all of your devices?

Hello I am sending a message here on the fours for the same exact issue. On my Xfinity app I am only able to see Overview, Services, Account. I cannot see my Wifi settings to be able to manage my Wifi. I have cameras that depend on the 2.4Ghz Wifi wave and I have not been able to connect them since switching to Xfinity I am highly disappointed. Yes I have tried re-Installing the application. Yes I have restarted the XB8 multiple times and to no avail, In the app when I try to activate my "Internet Equipment" it just stays loading and sends me back to the main page without activation if not I get an error message. I've been trying to do research for days on end now and the only time I have seen this issue resolved has been here in the forums with a upper level tech. The people you have handling phones have no idea about this issue I've been told multiple times I'm going to get help but they cannot resolve the issue and they close my ticket without resolving my issue. I need help if not I am going to have to switch companies because its ridiculous. T-Mobile had such an easy way to manage your Wifi settings and you guys are dropping the ball hard with this.

I'm a Xfinity customer and I've got the answer should the Wi-Fi tab disappear. You are going to need Xfinity Advance Repair Team to resolve this issue, not the initial Internet support team when you call Xfinity and ask for technical support for your Internet modem.

The Internet support rep (not the Advance Support Team) you are transferred to on your way to speaking with advanced support will not have the TOOLS available to fix this only advanced support will have access to the TOOLS needed. Bad news is: the initial tech support rep will need to go through a troubleshooting check list i.e. uninstalling the Xfinity application and re installing the application, clearing the apps storage cache yada yada yada in order for the rep to open a ticket for Advance Support to fix the missing WiFi tab you are experiencing.

Now to give you some information and it's been stressing me out regarding this missing WiFi tab issue... Advance repair may get it back for you but it will eventually disappear again it's only a matter of time. It's on Xfinity's side it's something to do with the application and your modem losing it's heartbeat, a provisioning hiccup which needs to be ironed out xfinity network professionals seem to be dragging their feet to mitigate this issue.... One thing I've noticed adding to the problem of the Wi-Fi tab disappearing from the application is to TURN OFF ALL VPN CONNECTIONS (VPN connections outside of Xfinity on the go VPN the system does not like it. You will lose all modem and Internet service features... Oh and when you see the welcome messages when you open the Xfinity application after clearing the cache if you see a2 factor authentication and let's explore the app messages pop up and you don't see xb8 modem wrapped up in ribbons flash with the welcome messages then sadly, the Wi-Fi tab will still be missing and the issue still not resolved.

Hope this helps... Remember your goal to fixing the missing WiFi tab and gaining control of your WiFi network is you must speak to ADVANCE REPAIR , the first level Internet technical support rep will need to open a ticket for advance support if you call them in the evening then one internet support tech will open the ticket and they'll tell you that you're going to get a message in the morning about 6:00 a.m. because they're going to want the modem to go through a self-healing process and about 6:00 in the morning if you'll receive the text message it'll say has your service been resolved it'll you'll look and see if the Wi-Fi tab is there or not if it's not you select no or in for now and send it back to Xfinity through the text message and then what will happen is the advanced repair team will be calling you on the phone so make sure you have all your blocks off and you are by your phone and the ringer is on because they'll be calling you pretty quick and this will be the advanced repair that you'll need to speak with and so remember normal entry level internet support tech reps will not have the tools available to fix this you must go through advanced repair thank you
