Port Forwarding Nightmare

This app situation is terrible for port forwarding, I want to set port forwarding up on the Admin Tools, but Xfinity is making us use this miserable app.

Problem 1: The app interface is annoying to use

Problem 2: It does not properly recognize devices it keeps mixing up my computers or only seeing one of them (of course the one it does not see is my server!)

Problem 3: most of the tech support agents don't even know how to deal with this app and they cannot change settings inside of it!

Every time I get my port working, and the server is up and running the app mismatches my computers, screwing everything up!

I set the server to use static EVERYTHING 2.4ghz g Static

Ip reserved on the computer and the router end

and still, the app does not recognize the computer properly

even though the admin tools does. I want to be able to use port forwarding from the admin tools not this terrible app.

why can it not be both? Bring back advanced controls in the admin tools @xfinity!

Update:  I set the reserved local IP on my server to 10.0.0.240 which is high up enough in the 1-253 range for the gateway to not automatically overwrite my port forwarding setting if any devices disconnect or connect.

I reserved this IP on both the router and the PC side, and locked the PC to use only the 2.4ghz g band

I went on the app, it re scans devices when you open port forwarding.

I open a port save it and boom! there it is.

(server) reserved IP 10.0.0.240

Awesome!

Now lets see what happens when I connect (computer) to the network.

I connect the computer, check the app

???

Under devices there is 2 (computer) and 2 (server) listed?

let me check the IPs? Okay (computer) IP 1 is correct IP 2 is correct

lets check (server) IP 1 wrong IP 2 wrong

I wait, check again a little later IP1 correct IP2 correct

Okay good...

let me see what happens when I turn my server off and back on

server is off, port forwarding settings are still the same *this time*

Server is on, software running IT STILL WORKS! Yeehaw!

I'm an amateur programmer at best, however even a noob chat GPT code monkey can see what the issue with the app is.

First off, the app developers are lazy (that tracks) and the variable they programmed the app to pull information from and base information off do not come directly from the router, they come through some poorly optimized middle man (not sure, I didn't build it) because if the app interfaced directly with the router, none of this would be an issue.

Here is what I suggest.

1. Do not force us to use your stupid app to do advanced configs of the gateway let us use admin tools for everything

2. Fire your app development team and hire a programmer to your HR team, to hire programmers.

3. build and OPTIONAL app to be a portal to the admin tools instead of a stand alone that conflicts with the admin tools

This app is a security risk, the way it is configured.

frankly any web portal to your router is a security risk which is why it should be OPTIONAL

I will return in a few days to update on my server's stability but please, do better! (also your latest modems get very hot what is with that, they are going to cook themselves and be very slow if they get so hot, consider better cooling)
