Port forwarding broken

The xfinity app rarely works for port forwarding, and when it does, it deletes the port forward after a day or two. When I try to check the app, my device isn't listed as connected, and so I'm not able to forward a port on it

@iokpne Thanks for reaching out to us on our Community forums. I would be more than happy to help find a solution to this port forwarding issue you're experiencing.

To confirm, do you have the latest software update downloaded to your device? Are you using the primary user profile to manage your devices?

Yes to both. I'm using ethernet and the app seems to consider the ethernet connection and my PC's wifi connection as two different devices and causes it problems. It worked on occasion but at this point any time I try to port forward it just gives an unspecified error

@iokpne for the unspecified error, try restarting your gateway before and after setting up the port forward. That seems to be the best way to get it to stick. On the Ethernet/Wi-Fi discrepancies, it sounds like your device is giving off a different MAC address for each connection. Is this an Apple device? Apple devices have settings that can interfere with port forwarding and our app's treatment of devices in general.
