Multiple devices in the home are constantly being shown as paused but upon looking at the app it shows they aren’t.  My PC would connect but would always say ‘need action, no internet’ but again, gets shown as the device being paused.  Honestly, seeing similar posts about the same issue being responded to by a generic, automated response is very disheartening. 
I hope this issue can be figured out soon.  I’d appreciate getting some sort of actual support from Xfinity.

@user_i9Iqjv Thank you for reaching out about this paused issue you are having with some of your devices.  I can see why this would be frustrating and would be happy to help. Have you tried clearing the Xfinity app's cache since this issue started? If that does not resolve the issue, please try restarting your gateway by pulling the power cord from the wall (not the back of the gateway), waiting 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
