Parental Control Failure: Cannot block websites through 10.0.0.1

I cannot block websites using the 10.0.0.1 Gateway Admin Tool's parerntal control function on my XB6 Advanced Gateway Modem/Router (Technicolor model CGM4140COM).  Sometimes if I restart (i.e. reboot) the Gateway modem/router,  that helps to stall an "always blocked" website from loading the first time, but one can rapidly get through with a few more tries, and once one gets through there is freely available access on subsequent tries.  Has anyone else run into this problem?  Has Xfinity basically stopped supporting 10.0.0.1 as it tries to migrate to the Xfi web portal, so that one is left with just the limited parental controls on that portal?  I had slightly better blocking with an Arris model TG3482G Gateway, but there too with persistent attempts (5-10) one could eventually break through the blocks.  If you haven't tried this yourself, please follow the "Set up Website Blocking" directions at:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/set-up-parental-controls-with-comcast-networking

and report your success or failure at getting reliable website blocking of any major site like www.youtube.com.  I'm trying to figure out if I'm an outlier or if this is a common failure.

As a "control" to show that my Gateways are not completely defective, I have never had any problems getting the bedtime and pause controls to work through the Xfi web portal.

Yes! I'm having the exact same problem. Any solutions yet?

I have the same problem. With the kids home from the Coronavirus AND the fact that they need to do everything on the computer, I am trying to block distracting websites like YouTube while allowing them to get to the sites they need for school (thus turning off the internet all together doesn't work).  Here is what I did:  I logged into the gateway, added youtube and a few other sites to the blocked sites list, set them to be blocked all the time, only set my own computer to be trusted, and saved.   Result: nothing. Every computer can get to all the blocked sites instantly.  Very frustrating.  I'd be grateful for guidance.
