No apparent way to remove ecobee control from XFi app
Hello,
I was able to successfully remove an old ecobee smart thermostat from my devices list on my home network, but in the XFi app, it still shows under a section called “Controls” in the Overview tab.
It says “Thermostat not responding” with a red exclamation point next to it, which isn’t surprising because I’ve already disconnected it. It’s in a previous house I’ve since moved from.
I moved my Xfinity service from that house to my new one and for some reason I can’t delete it from this “Controls” section in the overview.
This is in the XFi app so I know I’m not posting to the right forum but there doesn’t seem to be a forum for the XFi app. (Why doesn’t Xfinity just have one app for everything?).
Anyway I hope to get an answer here. It’s not a huge problem it’s just annoying seeing this old ecobee listed on my Overview (in the XFi app) and I cant delete it. If I tap on “View Details” underneath it it just tells me:
“My ecobee
Isn't Responding
Make sure it's powered on, and connected to your WiFi, then restart the xFi app.
Still having trouble? See FAQs for more help”
The FAQ is of no help because it just explains how to remove a device from the list of devices on a home network (and I did that successfully for this device) but it still shows under this “Controls” section in the app.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reaching out. Can you please try unlinking the device by performing the following steps?
I've also moved your post to the xFi section of the forum.
Thanks!
