Locally Stored Data

This was a suggestion given by Xfinity on the forum in order to get the Crunchyroll app. I'm afraid to do this because it says that it will delete all historical data, login info, game progress, and what I've watched from my TV Box's memory. Can you tell me EXACTLY what'll happen? I'd hate to have to do the DVR things, searches, reminders, etc.
