Gear icon

Norton requests me to go to xfinity app go to gear icon go to go to 3 rd party access to get password for my safe email from Norton. Cannot find gear icon snywhere

Norton's instructions are a bit confused. You probably need to log in to https://connect.xfinity.com, not the Xfinity app.

Whatever is generating the warning is incorrect. The "connect" and "third party access" links are both legitimate Comcast/Xfinity sites/pages.

Good evening Opus18. Have you had a chance to also check the settings within the Xfinity website? There is a gear icon when logged into the website, usually.

If there is, it won't do the poster any good. They need to enable "Third Party Access Security", and can only do that at https://connect.xfinity.com/ by selecting:

(gear icon) / Email settings / Security / "Third Party Access Security"

I did find gear icon got to 3rd party but after that very confusing.  I already had 3 rd party checked. Norton says follow instructions for 3 rd party access and copy the code. I need to put in code for Norton so they can monitor my emails. 
Cauls not find code.

Opus18 I did look up some additional information on this. Once you have enabled third-party access on the Xfinity website, and configured your third-party email application, you would then need tp integrate with Norton, and this is where it looks like the code comes into play and is generated.
 
Here is the information I found: 
 
Integrate with Norton
If you are setting up your email with Norton 360 (such as the Norton Safe Email feature) or Norton AntiTrack, follow these steps:
  • When prompted by the Norton app or extension, enter the email you want to protect.
  • Norton will send a six-digit verification code to your real email.
  • Copy and paste this code into the Norton setup screen to authenticate the integration and activate protection features like scanning for phishing and malicious attachments.

It wants a code from xfinity that I have to copy and paste to Norton site. Wish I can send picture of what they want. It was safe before but now they want this.

Yes 109% sure. The screen shot will not show up here. Has some kind of error. This is a mess. Maybe I’ll call Norton because I’ve tried for 3 days and can get no password.

Was anyone successful in getting this set up? I am struggling with the same issue. I've tried entering my regular Xfinity password into Norton safe email and get an error.

What is the error? If the message includes an email address or any other personal information, be sure to remove that before posting.

No error. We need an app specific password to put in Norton safe email site to enable. We cannot find any area to get a password on the xfinity site. Went on iPad, laptop, iPhone no area. Been atthis for 2 weeks. Seems Norton thinks

 its an xfinity problem and xfinity thinks it’s a Norton problem.

Yahoo uses those, so if your email as been migrated there you can get one from them. But if your mail is still on Comcast/Xfinity servers, they do not use and do not provide app passwords. For those, YOU DON'T NEED AN APP PASSWORD! Just enter your regular Comcast/Xfinity password on Norton's form.
