Free XFi pods scam?
I received the same email I see many on this forum have received that after a home wifi assessment was completed, we are eligible to receive 3 XFi pods for free. Like many others the links in the email did not work (went to a page in Portuguese saying the page was not in use).
I spent 75 minutes on a chat with an Xfinity representative. With the rep, we found that when I logged into the app, I could access a working link for the pods, but as I clicked through, I was told I would need to contact a representative to complete the order. The rep on chat continued to help me and he was very helpful and patient but after everything he tried, he said that I would need to call a specific Xfinity number (877)392-1494 to complete the order for the pods. (Why Xfinity cannot complete the order I do not understand.) I called this number twice, the first time the agent said she could not help me and that I needed to call 1-855-590-0920 to complete the order. The second time, the agent said I needed to contact customer service to complete the order after telling me I have to use the non-working link in the email. When I tried the numbers given to me I either got busy signals or was sent through long phone trees that then told me my phone number was not valid. I gave up after not being able to successfully reach an actual person. The last thing I was told was that I could go to the Xfinity store and I should be able to resolve it there. This seems unreasonable to me in a pandemic and that the error or problem seems to be on Xfinity's end.
So many people are having the same difficulty receiving these "free" XFi pods. Is this a scam from Comcast? Is it even a real deal? Why does Comcast offer something that then is a complete frustration to the customer and involves so much time to even try to receive? Even after all the time I spent, I have no way to order these 'free' pods.

Hi @michyamamoto @jay5000 , I am sorry both of you are having hard times ordering the free xFi pods after taking the WiFi assessment. Jay in April COVID-19 was going on and we had to slow down shipping out any equipment and then we fully stopped shipping due to COVID-19. We still at this time have restrictions as well in most areas so that would most likely be the reason you have not received the pods yet. During COVID-19 at its hardest hitting points it would not of been wise to send out a bunch of packages that could possible infect someone. We at that time decided we would offer free same day or next day appointments and come out and drop off equipment in person. We do not drop off xFi pods and the only way to get them would be depending on where you live. When it comes to not buying the pods the only way to get them free is through that link for the xFi pods. @michyamamoto I am also sorry that you have not been able to order the pods and have them shipped for free yet. No it is not a scam we will send out the pods however if the link is down we will have to get someone to fix it on the backend. We do not at this time have an ETA on when the link will be working however it has been escalated already. We hope you have have an excellent weekend!

I am having the same issue - the link leads to a "temporarily unavailable" page. Meanwhile, if I wanted to pay $119 they ARE available

It is simply ensuring your customes go 'mad', and exceedingly frustrated with your 'stupid' chatbot phone tree.
