Do xFi pods create another network under the same name?

I have a situation that I have a ring camera and wemo plugs that are currently not getting a long.  I have 10 wemo plugs that worked 100% fine until I introduced an xFi plug into the mix because my Ring camera was unable to get proper signal strength to work the way it should.  I have done some testing and if I unplug the xFi pod I regain my wemo plugs that were connected to the xFi pod.  As soon as I plug the xFi Pod back in and the wemo plugs find it they are no longer responsive.  This made me curious so I then did a ping test.  I found that the Wemo plugs and ring camera connected to the xFi pods did not respond to a PING, I was able to PING anything connected to the main gateway.  I was under the impression that these pods just extended the signal from the main gateway.  Now I am wondering if they create their own network that just clones the main network name.  Any idea on how I can remedy this situation so my Wemo plugs and Ring camera can be happy together?

Thanks Robert for the reply.  Just to clarify I only have one SSID but any thing connected to the pod acts like it is on a separate network.

Just to update this in case anyone else has this problem.  I was able to get my wemo plugs connected by just resetting each one to factory settings and reconnecting them to my network.  My xFi pod was connected when I reinstalled the plugs.  However, I reconnected in a different room then the xFi Pod was in, except for one and the wemo plug I connected in the same room as the xFi pod did have trouble responding after it was connected to the network, initially.  I don't know if it was an issue with that plug or a network issue.  I did get it get it connected after taking it out of the room and setting it up as I did the other plugs.  But nonetheless all plugs have been connected and responsive after successful reconnecting to my network now.  Hope this helps someone else.
