Device not connected to Gateway

I have a computer that is currently connected to my home network/internet (I'm typing this message on it), but it does not show up in my list of devices (either connected or not connected) to my gateway. How can I make it show up / connect it to the gateway?

Hey there, @user_520909. Are you referring to it not showing up through the Xfinity App or the admin portal? have you tried any troubleshooting with the modem, like rebooting etc?

@XfinityKorie The Xfinity App. I have rebooted the modem, but no luck, so I was about to give up. But I just checked again and for whatever reason, the device is now showing up in the list of devices (progress!) but it is still listed as "Not Connected."  How can I connect it to the gateway?

Thanks for the clarification, @user_520909

What are you seeing when you perform a device connection test?

This article is super helpful with Full Network and Device Connection Tests - https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/whole-home-network-device-tests

Are you seeing different results at the xFi website vs. the the Xfinity app?

I see different results in the Xfi app vs. the 10.0.0.1 website. WHY? I am trying to setup port forwarding for ports 85 - 89. Why is so difficult?

Let's take a further look into this.

To send a direct message [private message]:

  •    Click "Sign In" if necessary
  •    Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://comca.st/36yU10U
  •    Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  •    The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
  •    - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  •    - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  •    Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  •    Press Enter to send it
