Customer Service Scammers!!!

I am so utterly pissed. A couple of weeks ago I contacted Comcast through the Xfinity app and I had the customer service rep. Say oh I have a great deal for you. I can lower your monthly payment. I said no you can’t because my payment is this much and it’s lower than what you’re trying to quote me mind you I was asking for help about my television.

fast forward to today. I use the Xfinity app again to chat with Lalan about the same issues. My TV was having then all of a sudden they were talking about changing something over because it needed to be changed over in order for my TV to work. I didn’t even know what they were talking about so I said certainly let’s fix it. They asked me for my Social Security number and my date of birth through a link that was a secure link. I did that then they came back and asked me for my credit card and they  sent another secure link. I questioned it and said why do I need to do this? I am having trouble with my TV. What does this have to do with my television. They said “oh it will make your TV work faster“. When I declined to give them a credit card or a debit card number and I said I don’t need that. They insisted that there was no charge for the month and I wouldn’t get charged at all. I said that’s not true. You’re gonna charge me at some point for something.I just need help with my TV, then all of a sudden they claimed that my modem didn’t work and my modem was bad. When I said no, I doubt that then all of a sudden that chat was dropped and then I was talking to Abdullah?

I contacted Comcast fraud department and they said they were going to escalate the situation. Which means nothing‘s gonna happen to these people because it’s happened to me twice in two weeks. I’m almost done with Comcast. There are plenty of other Internet providers. Since when is it OK to get scammed by Comcast customer service when you’re using the app?!?? I just don’t think Comcast cares.

I was worried about this person getting my information and using it in nefariously, but I was assured by the Comcast fraud department that they weren’t able to make any charges because I didn’t give them my credit card number and they generally ask for them of information when they’re trying to switch services or add a new service to your account.
