Crazy Data Usage Makes No Sense!

After switching my xfinity plan to Internet only my bill went down to $110 a month. Suddenly in July-September I recieved a message that we're exceeding 1TB of Internet which is ourragously high $213. Thank god softwares like Apple OBS and Windows Monitor data usage on every device.  Our household is using an average of 600GB a month. A tech savy friend told me to call and monitor what decives are exceeding the 1TB Limit. The Xfinity xFi App had no information on its database concerning the devices connected just the 1TB overuse. I tried talking to customer serivice asking for more information on what devices are using so much data. The lady put me on hold and hung up. Almost 1500 GB bill in a 4 persom household with 6 devices Thats Insanity PLEASE HELP!

I had the same issue. Mine ended up being ubiquitys test function that was doing a 200mb speed test every few minutes.

If you are streaming on any app. Make sure you back completely out of that app. Just turning off the TV will NOT close that app. Therefore, that app is still streaming and using data, even though you are not viewing it. One way I found to fix this was to plug my streaming device into a powered USB port on the TV itself. That way when I power off the TV the USB port is also powered off. This trick will essentially close the app and thereby not use any data. I use this setup so that I could set my sleep timer on my TV. Prior to this setup, yes, the sleeptimer would turn off the TV, but the app was not turned off and still running and using data.
