Better Working Xfinity Stream App

Is there a patch, an update or better stream& friendly Xfinity TV Stream App? Because I don't think this one available is what Comcast Xfinity intended to put out. Because it's frustrating to use - freezes, buggy, constantly disconnects and take several minutes to reconnect. By the way, I  subscribed to a gig speed Internet but I'm 290 DL/40 UL

Or has Xfinity purposefully did this to force customers to come and rent their expensive set top box?
