App is no longer compatible with iPhone X (and other older models)

The Xfinity App now requires that my iPhone have iOS 17.2 and later but iPhone X is only able to upgrade to v16.07.11 so I am no longer able to use the Xfinity App.

This was extremely frustrating when my internet connection kept dropping yesterday. Logging in from the phones web browser is more cumbersome and is not as thorough in trouble shooting as the app.

I attempted to use the chat option to get help - but the bot would not acknowledge the issue nor would it connect me to a person. My phone works fine - I'm not going to buy a new phone because companies such as yours have decided to be OS specific.

Good afternoon user_daur8i. Have you attempted to uninstall the app and re-install it, to see if that helps any? Are you still experiencing connection issues with your internet?

@XfinityJon Is this a new thing? I have an IPhone 8 where the app suddenly doesn’t work and I can’t update it. How do I pay my bill?

I have tried uninstalling/ reinstalling. The app is requiring that users at least have iOS 17 - but older iPhones are only allowed to update to 16.07.11 - so older phones are no longer compatible with the Xfinity app.
i can login to Xfinity through my phone’s browser but it is more cumbersome than just using the app and there are not as many features.

@user_rhb5tz seems like it happened within the last month. My internet goes down at least once a month and I use the app when it happens. Last time it went down I couldn’t use the app.
you can still connect through a web browser.
Personally I set up auto pay when I opened the account so I don’t think about paying the bill.

user_daur8i That would be correct, you would still need to be able to receive iOS updates for future versions to use the Xfinity app. This is pretty normal to ensure your device's security when using apps that may have sensitive information. As you mentioned Xfinity.com is always a great alternative option.
